CEO

Amanda Oenbring brings a wealth of experience in community collaboration, climate philanthropy, and global growth of movement building, previously scaling international membership at 1% for the Planet and leading environmental nonprofit network expansion at EarthShare. She found the perfect blend of her interests in business, sustainability and food via an MBA in Sustainable Systems and a Sustainable Food and Agricultural Systems Certificate from Bainbridge Graduate Institute (now Presidio Graduate School) having previously completed her B.A. in Communication Studies at Westmont College. Currently you can find her homesteading several acres in Oregon, cultivating bountiful sunflowers, chickens and tomatoes with her family.

Senior Program Manager

Mariel Nunley is the Senior Program Manager at UFA, working to grow UFA’s membership and build strong partnerships with participating companies. She has a BA in Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College where her honors thesis examined the impact of wasted food on food production and waste management systems. Her background is on customer success and operations teams at data-driven start-ups working on innovative waste collection solutions, food waste prevention tools, and compliance software. Outside of work she enjoys walking and biking everywhere, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and tending to her 100+ houseplants.

Assistant Operations Manager

Bo Spiller is the UFA Assistant Operations Manager where they help with a variety of organizational related projects and processes. They have a Master's degree in organizational development from Temple University, with a focus on conflict and transformative mediation. Their interest in upcycled foods comes from a life of multicultural experiences that made them curious about the interdependence of communities and how we function within our personal ecosystems. Their free time is filled with an appreciation for small creatures, curating playlists, vegan baking and devouring pop culture.

Membership Coordinator

Sophia has a BA in Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College where her thesis focused on measuring impacts of Fortune50 ESG and CSR practices. From capital raise to consumer analytics, her background touches on many business functions while staying close to her passion for sustainability and food. Her favorite upcycled food recipe is carrot top pesto and outside of work you can find her outside enjoying the SoCal sun.

Marketing and Events Coordinator

Eden is the Marketing & Events Coordinator at UFA, working to grow the upcycled food movement while bringing members brand + community building opportunities. She comes from the food world, where she has helped build CPG brands and food tech solutions working to reduce food waste. She has a BS from Allegheny College in Environmental Science and a MSc in Environmental Science and Policy from Central European University in Vienna, Austria. In her free time, she explores the endless culinary adventure that is New York City, playing guitar, and travelling to explore new places.
